After hosting around 500 some odd events over the last 10 years the most stressful aspect we see is decorating.  People never think there is enough time to decorate, or they over-think the entire process.  Fortunately, it does not have to be that way.  We always strongly encourage our clients to consider hiring a professional event decorator for their event.  Our number one referral always goes to our friend Ryan at Epic Vibe in Coeur d’Alene.  Many people in our community know Ryan and Epic Vibe to be a DJ service, which they are, and a good one at that.  However, another aspect of their business is event decoration.

According to Ryan the most common decorating requests they receive are to change or “soften” the look of a room.  To do this, the most common decoration element provided by Epic Vibe is drapery.  Whenever we see a client that is considering running draping through our rafters we immediately refer them to Epic Vibe.  Honestly, do you want to be climbing a ladder with a drape trying to run it through a set of rafters and hooks to get it setup where it looks good?  Trust me, this is harder than it looks.  For this reason, we encourage anyone considering draping to utilize an outside decorator.

Another key element to decorating is up-lighting.  This aspect creates a nice mood in the venue, especially once the sun sets.  At this point of the event, most guests are dancing.  Which allows for the up-lighting to provide a terrific backdrop against the draping throughout the venue.

Not often, but on occasion, some guests choose to utilize chandeliers.  In this case we again recommend they contact a decorator.  Essentially, if you are going to have to step on a ladder, hire the decorator is good rule of thumb.  Epic Vibe does provide chandeliers and can set them up in our Pavilion building, or outside in a tent.

Epic Vibe provides several different lighting options.  In addition to Up-Lighting and Chandeliers they also provide string lights and bistro lights.  These are terrific accents to use, especially if your event is outdoors.  Again, this is another reason to hire a decorator.  They always have enough extension cords to ensure that you can utilize the outdoor lighting.

One of the latest trends, not so much in decorating, but in activities for your event is the Photo Booth.  We have seen both professional, and not professional booths utilized at Elk Point and we can say without a doubt that you want to hire the professional.  Epic Vibe has a mirror screen that allows you to see yourself before you take your photo, similar to taking a “selfie”.  Their touchscreen is interactive.  They also provide props for your guests to use.

There are lots of different designs to consider when choosing a professional event decorator.  One thing to consider is that the decorator actually has experience working at the venue you choose to host your event.  This is one reason why we always recommend Epic Vibe.  By hiring the professional you, your family, friends and guests can enjoy your event and leave the setup and cleanup to your professionals.
